TGV LyriaTGV Lyria is the branding on the TGV rail lines connecting France to Switzerland. TGV Lyria is also the corporate name of the managing service, which uses SNCF staff in France and Swiss Federal Railways staff in Switzerland. The staffing change between the two companies occurs on the border of France and Switzerland. Beginning in 1961, rail service between Paris and Lausanne was operated by the Trans Europ Express trains, which continued travel to Milan. On January 22, 1984, the rail lines were replaced by TGV service; however, the rail lines were reduced to a termination point in Lausanne. On March 4, 2002, the Lyria name was used for the rail service, which included service to Geneva, Berne, Brigue and the ski resorts in the Rhone Valley. With destinations in Paris, Switzerland, Geneva, Lausanne, Basel and Zurich, TGV Lyria provides travelers access to some of the most stunning locations in Europe. TGV Lyria is partnered with the following destination companies: in Switzerland, Suisse Tout Naturellement and Swiss Travel, in France, La Nouveau Paris, Paris Office of Tourism, and A Tout France. They are also partnered with Interhome, a service which locates and reserves holiday houses and apartments for travelers who do not wish to stay in a traditional hotel. Reward programs are available through the SNCF Grand Voyager S’miles service. This is a program for frequent travelers, much as airline miles reward programs are operated. Frequent travelers, for business or leisure, can collect S’miles for any travel booked on a TGV Lyria train line and use them for future travel dates. S’miles can be redeemed, via e-ticket, through any travel agency and picked up at the departure station on the date of travel. Members of the Grand Voyager program also have access to special VIP lounges and waiting areas at all TGV Lyria stations. Travelers can purchase tickets up to three months in advance of their anticipated travel date; TGV Lyria recommends early booking to guarantee the best pricing and availability. Any SNCF approved travel agency can book on TGV Lyria train line for their customers. * All logos are property of their respective owners and shown for educational purposes only.
